The Doctors Office: Where it All Began

The Concept of “The Doctors Office” Started in 2016 . I was writing an article for hbgonline that included concert reviews. The article was called “The Doctors Office” named after my clever alter ego NickellessMD. Concert and cd reviews were my focus. Late in the year the idea for an Awards show came up and I had the idea of doing an online vote and using myspace to announce the winners . The conept was that local “celebrities” or local muscians would be given a specific time to post the winner on thier page, fans could use these times and continue to follow myspace pages to see the winners.
Most Tuesday evening HBGonline would hold a show called “Twisted Tuesdays” at the hardware bar in downtown Harrisburg. These shows would be something I’d frequent often. One evening I struck up a conversation w/ Kyle Taylor (of Julian Fist) and he suggested doing an actual awards show at Gullifty’s a place his band played. I loved the idea but wasn’t sure how it was done. Eventually I was introduced the Eisenhours at Gullifty’s and the game was on.
The idea for the Awards show was simple. Completely copy of the Grammy / MTV awards. Instead of bands playing 1 hit song we’d have em play 2-3 songs and we have many local celebrities to announce awards. The voting began and the show was planned.
