This year was unique in that it was the debut of two acts as well as the first time the Best Regional band was voted upon to play the show. It also featured the first year of "Nick’s special guests”.
Two bands debuted at this show. The first was Minshara who featured Aaron Miller formerly of A Public Betrayal and A Utopian Skyline. Also making a debut appearance was The New Devine featuring Vocalist Nick Coyle (who’s sang w/ The Drama Club, Mydownfall and Lifer, not the current Guitarist for the band Cold. Also on this show the band No Stars Over California won the vote to become the Best Regional band. This year was the first year that the best regional band was given a prime slot on the show. Also Tapered Mind was put on the show as Nick’s Special Guests.
The show was to be headlined for a second time by Julian Fist however the band was unable to perform due to family issues that were disclosed the week of the show. In Turn The band Carving Out Fiction would serve as headliner.

Nick’s Special Guests Tapered Mind perform for one the their biggest crowds in Harrisburg area. They were selected by the Nick as they had become a local favorite and not only that but not since a Super Bob has any band become so beloved by the Central PA Music goer like Tapered Mind. They put on an absolutely electric performance on this night as they were on top of their game…

The show was in need of some fire power in the way of another band so Nick called his good buddy and former A Utopian Skyline vocalist Aaron Miller. He was just putting the finishing touches on his new act called Minshara. They had not played out live yet and the two came up w/ the idea of them playing a debut “practice” performance at the 717 Awards Show.

The Drama club featured Nick Coyle who is a current member of Cold and he also sang in Lifer. They would win the award for Best Artist of the year this year and also perform as the new moniker The New Devine.
