2008 Started pretty much as 2007 ended. We kicked it off w/ another Awards show. This time changing the name for The Doctors Office Awards to the 717 Music Awards as we felt it better to honor the area code in which we were hailing from. We also introduced The Morning Star Festival. The festival was an all day event named after a song by the band Bob who had come in and taken the area by storm. They drew big crowds right away and by the festival it was the 4th time we’d booked them. They hadn’t played out of DC often so it was an honor to give them some of thier first out of state gigs. We also brought in our first National celebrity w/ Lukas Rossi who had won the TV Show and fronted the band Rockstar Supernova. He came as a solo artist. Rockstar Supernova featured Jason Newsted (Metallica), Gilby Clark (Guns N’ Roses) and Tommy Lee (Motley Crue) so he was a pretty big name at the time. I remember watching in awe as it sounded like an orchestra was on stage despite it being only him and his acoustic guitar.
