06. “The Message”
07. “Headbanger”
08. “Creators of The End”
09. “Kingdoms”
10. “Prove Yourself”
This show was build around Evil like you and the release of thier first EP “Creators of The End” which dropped the day before the show. The band ripped through an absolute powerhouse of a set which included the entire EP along w/ 2 brand new tracks (one of which “Unsocialized” containing clean vocals on the chorus, a first for the band) and a few tracks not on the EP but mainstays in the bands live set. Thier was mosh pits all night and Lead vocalist Shaun Howerton even participated in one towards the end of the set. For the final song “Prove Yourself” the producer of the record Brett Anspach (Member of Ultraviolent and Monunent of a Memory) came up and helped on vocals. The set was one of the best I’ve seen in awhile. Kudo’s to the boys
PREVAILER
Late friday evening word was given that co headliners Monument of a Memory was gonna be unable to perform as two members had contacted Covid. So w/ the help of Nicole (Renovare) a replacement was sought and found. New Jerseys Prevailer. As the backlights were loaded on stage it became apparent these boys from Jersey were not fucking around. They were not only an amazing last minute addition but perfect lead in to our headliners. The energy on stage was immense and the songs were music was intense. I wanna thank these boys specially for coming up and putting on an incredible set for us and we cannot wait to get them back up to Lovedrafts.
01. “Malady”
02. “Diseased Frames”
03. “Crooked Atlas”
04. “The Apologist”
05. “Bleed Me Dry”
06. “Inversion”
RENOVARE
If you are a fan of Emotional metal and Emotional live sets this is your band. Vocalist Nikki Galbraith has an incredible voice and puts her every emotion and bit of her being in every line she sings. The band was w/out thier bassist but didn’t miss a beat. Even paying homage to the absent bassist (who lost a loved one to cancer) by having the entire crowd Scream “Fuck Cancer” and recorded it to send to him. A beautiful moment. Be on the lookout for them on more shows w/ us soon.
01. “Heredity”
02. “Promise Culture”
03. “The Surface”
04. “Posedion”
CARBONSTONE
01. “AM Trauma”
02. “Vertigo”
03. “Mend”
04. “Hush”
05. “SCREAM”
06. “My Own Summer (Shove it)”
(Deftones Cover)
The second of what I’d consider 2 “Buzz” bands of the day Carbonstone stormed the stage w/ a short set and leaving the crowd wanting more, exactly how do it. The band included thier “Masked” man or “Bear” who simply stands on stage and dances around and occasionally gets mentioned by vocalist Corey James. The band released a single earlier in the hear called “Scream” and you could tell the crowd was well versed on it as they sang or “Screamed” along w/ them. The group not only puts on a sick set they travel w/ a crew as you could see the floor start filling in as the band began. Closing out the set w/ a spot on version of the Deftones track “My own Summer” the band came saw and conqured for the second time at lovedrafts.
MANTRA OF MORTA
The first of my considered “Buzz”bands of the day was Mantra Of Morta. They drove all the way from Indiana to perform for us. This was the second time they have been to lovedrafts and both times the people in attendance stopped what they were doing and paid attention to this incredible band. The band did not let up the entire set. Throwing in a brand new track called “Snakecharmer”. They are a heavy / melodic band w/ the adorable Jessie Cochran leading the way w/ her vocals that range from crisp clean to dirty growls. This band gives me the vibes of bands like Rebel Inc and Super bob when I first booked them in the sense that they captivate the audience and I feel could be Mechanicsburg Headliners by mid 2023.
01. “Freman”
02. “Arrakeen”
03. “Void”
04. “Abysswalker”
05. “Snakecharmer”
06. “P.I.G. (People in General)”
HEARTBENT
Heartbent is a band who just continues to gather attention and attract more and more of a crowd each time they play at Lovedrafts. They’ve now opened up for THe Bunny The Bear, Rivals and Archers along w/ playing w/ Observe the 93rd a few times. Thier brand of heavy rock gets the audience involved from the first track w/ both Alex on Vocals and from time to time Elle Saulsbury chimes in w/ her vocals. the band ripped through a set that included vocalist Alex jumping in to the crowd singing a song while moshing w/ the rowdy crowd. Another great feature to the bands set is the guitar virtuoso Neel Massey who is light years ahead of his age w/ regards to his guitar skills. We are cycling them in every two to three months and watching them grow!!
01. “Watch it Fall”
02. “Agony”
03. “Take Control”
04. “House of Mirrors”
05. “I Swear”
06. “Jump Off”
07. “FF2L”
08. “Sanctuary”
AMERICAN DHARMA
01. “Ice Breaker”
02. “Afterburner”
03. “Breakthrough”
04. “Astronaut Eyes”
05. “Lean In”
Second is a band who is no stranger to 717 shows as its the 3rd booking this year. American Dharma put on a great set that seemed to short. The band guitarist Jesse Neal was pulling double duty playing guitar and Bass. Drummer in a Kilt, vocalist w/ sweet sunglasses, what more can you ask for. Can’t wait to bring them back in early 2023.
SURVIVE THE CONSPIRACY
01. “Theories”
02. “Fallen”
03. “The Pot” (Tool Cover)”
04. “Webs”
05. “Kick out The Jams”
First off any band that can play a Tool song especially as a 3 piece and pull it off even half way decently is a-ok in my book. Survive the Conspiracy opened up the festival is a great way by not only crushing it on stage but bringing a nice crowd at 4:00 in the afternoon. They blend a lot of elements to make thier music thier own which is a nice style to have. I’m so excited to build them in this area as I feel they could work themselves into a headlining spot eventually.
